Octogenarian Kashmiri Pandit, Sampat Prakash has said that Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has become a wounded paradise where blood is spilled every now and then and where military bunkers are seen everywhere.

In a video which has gone viral, Sampat Prakash said that over one lac people have been killed and more than 85000 rendered orphan in the last over three decades in the territory.

Condemning the recent killings of non-locals in Kashmir, he said that targeting any innocent is a heinous crime. Referring to the anti-Muslim film, The Kashmir Files which is based on the exodus of Pandits in 1990s, he said that Modi lauded the film declaring it tax-free and urging that everyone should watch it.

Sampat Prakash stressed that the movie has only depicted the tragic story of four lac Pandits, while the miseries being inflicted upon over seven million Muslims in the Valley have been totally ignored. Kashmiris faced unlimited crackdown, their children killed and thousands imprisoned, but no one talked of their tragedy, he added.

Holding former IIOJK Governor Jagmohan responsible for what befell Kashmiri Pandits in early 90s, he said that it was the then governor who created fear psychosis among the Pandits and provided buses to them to transport them to Jammu. He maintained that Jagmohan later launched a large scale crackdown against the Muslims of the Valley.

Stressing that communal harmony has always existed in Kashmir, he said that even when lacs of people including Muslims and Hindus were massacred during the partition in 1947, not a single Kashmiri Pandit was harmed in the Valley and urged the Pandits that they must not forget this.
