Istanbul, December 16 (KMS): Kashmiri representatives highlighted the Kashmir dispute during a conference in Istanbul.

Addressing the conference organized by Nai Dunya Foundation, the Kashmiri representatives Abdur Rasheed Turabi, Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Dr Ghulam Nabi Mir and Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai informed the audience about the background of the lingering Kashmir dispute and the atrocities being committed by India in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

They said that Indian troops in their continued state terrorism to crush the Kashmiris’ just freedom struggle had so far martyred over five lac Kashmiri people and destroyed properties worth billions of dollars in IIOJK. They said since the repeal of the special status of IIOJK in August 2019, Indian people in large numbers are being settled in the territory through issuance of fake domicile certificates in order to turn the Muslim majority into minority.

The Kashmiri representatives said Pakistan, which raises its voice in favor of Kashmir and oppressed Muslims, is targeted by India. “More than five hundred propaganda websites were exposed in the European Union, through which important countries of the entire Muslim world, including Pakistan and Turkey, were discredited,” they said.

They expressed serious concern over the continued illegal detention of Hurriyat leaders including the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman, Masarrat Alam Butt, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Aasiya Andrabi and Dr Abdul Hameed Fayyaz. They appealed to the Islamic world and the international community to play an effective role for the release of all illegally detained Kashmiris.

The conference was attended by students of universities, human rights organizations and media representatives.
