In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Kashmir valley is wearing a deserted look on India’s 76th Independence Day, today.

The day is being marked by a complete shutdown in IIOJK call for which has been given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and supported by almost all Hurriyat leaders and organizations.

The entire IIOJK, particularly Srinagar, is giving a look of a military garrison and a big concentration camp as the occupation authorities have deployed troops and police personnel in every nook and corner of the territory to prevent people from staging anti-India demonstrations.

The shops and other business establishments are closed in most parts of the valley while checkpoints and barricades have been erected at the main squares and points from North to South Kashmir.

The occupation authorities ordered all government employees and educational institutions to attend the Indian Independence Day functions and hoist the Indian flags at offices and schools.

Meanwhile, posters appeared in different areas of the territory, saying that India had invaded Jammu and Kashmir and forcibly occupied it against the will of the Kashmiri people. The posters also read slogans like “Indian Independence Day is a Black Day” and “We want freedom”.
