Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has urged non-BJP chief minsters and opposition leaders to come together in fight against the Hindutva party.

The West Bengal chief minister writes to non-BJP chief ministers and opposition leaders that the saffron party is misusing Indian agencies.

“Let us commit to cause of unified opposition to make way for a government that the country deserves. Need of the hour is for all progressive forces to come together and fight the oppressive regime at Centre,” she writes.

Banerjee has been on the forefront at attempting the unification of ‘like-minded’, anti BJP parties.

Last year, the West Bangal CM proposed to form a core group of opposition leaders to decide on joint movements against the BJP ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

Virtually attending a meeting of opposition parties convened by Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi, the Trinamool Congress chief asked the opposition leaders to keep aside differences and put up a united fight against the BJP saffron party.
