A court of India’s notorious National Investigation Agency has framed charges against illegally detained All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman, Masarrat Aalam Butt, and several other Hurriyat leaders under various charges to keep them behind the bars and force them to give up their just cause of Kashmir’s freedom from Indian illegal occupation.

The charge-sheet has been framed by the NIA court against the leaders for organizing large-scale pro-freedom and anti-India protest demonstrations in 2017 across Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. They have been charged under various sections of Indian Penal Code and draconian law, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act including waging war against India. Besides Masarrat Aalam Butt, the charge-sheet has been framed against fourteen other persons including Hurriyat leaders, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Peer Siafullah, Farooq Ahmad Dar, Raja Merajuddin Kalwal, and Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam. These leaders have been languishing in New Delhi’s infamous Tihar Jail for the last over four years.

The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government was subjecting the Kashmiri leaders to vengeance by implicating them in false cases for championing the Kashmiris’ struggle for securing their right to self-determination. He however said that such Indian tactics have failed to subdue the resolve of the Hurriyat leaders in the past and will meet the same fate in the future as well.

Meanwhile, senior APHC leader, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, addressing a gathering in Badgam termed the Bollywood film The Kashmir Files as a well-hatched conspiracy to stoke communal violence in India and to provoke the Indian Hindus against the Kashmiri Muslims.

Indian police have admitted the arrest of scores of youth in IIOJK during this year. Inspector General of Police of Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, talking to reporters in Badgam said 150 youth have been arrested so far this year in the territory. The police arrested these youth after dubbing them as over-ground workers of mujahideen and mujahid organizations.

On the other hand, a cinema in the Adilabad city in the Indian state of Talangana echoed with pro-Pakistan slogans during the screening of controversial movie ‘The Kashmir Files’. Two youth chanted ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans in a movie theatre where the film was being screened. The pro-Pakistan slogans infuriated the fellow movie-watchers in the cinema who thrashed the two youth. Tamil Nadu Congress Committee chief KS Alagiri in a statement said that the ‘The Kashmir Files’ was made with an objective of inciting hatred against the Muslims by unilaterally displaying half-truths and unsubstantiated fabrications.
