In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, APHC leader and Jammu and Kashmir Insaf Party General Secretary, Bashir Ahmad Butt has strongly denouncing the recent surge in killings by Indian troops in so-called cordon and search operations in the occupied territory.

Bashir Ahmad Butt in a statement issued in Srinagar said that situation in the territory continued to deteriorate due to the brutal military crackdown.

He said the intensified killings in stage-managed operations in IIOJK reflect the anti-Muslim designs of the Hindutva-inspired extremist BJP government in India.

Paying rich tributes to the youth recently martyred by troops in Kashmir, he reiterated the Kashmiris’ pledge to take the ongoing resistance movement to its logical conclusion despite the tyrannical measures of the Indian troops.

He said Modi regime must realize that it cannot break the will of the Kashmiri people and suppress their indigenous resistance movement through its relentless campaign of oppression and brutalization in Kashmir.

He called upon the international community, especially the United Nations, to take notice of the deteriorating situation and hold India accountable for its brutal and illegal actions, which are endangering peace and stability in South Asia.

APHC leader Muhammad Iqbal Mir in a statement said that the fascist Indian government cannot suppress the spirit of the Kashmiri people by binding or punishing the Hurriyat leadership. He strongly condemned the sentencing of Muhammad Yasin Malik to life imprisonment in a bogus case by an Indian Kangaroo court. He maintained that the Modi government martyred Hurriyat leaders Syed Ali Gilani and Mohammad Ashraf Sahrai in custody on design and now Yasin Malik is the new target.

Another Hurriyat-AJK leader Mohammad Ashraf Dar also strongly condemned the sentencing of Yasin Malik to life imprisonment saying that Jammu and Kashmir was a disputed territory and India could not decide the fate of Kashmiri people through its so-called courts.
