Eminent speakers and analysts have urged the international community to hold India accountable for human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

They were addressing a conference titled Myth of Indian Secular Democracy: Human Rights Violations and Rise of Saffron Tide under BJP, organized by Ministry of Information in Islamabad on Monday.

Participants of the conference highlighted that innocent Kashmiris are facing unabated extrajudicial killings, custodial torture, and death, arbitrary detentions, burning and looting of houses to inflict collective punishment, and other worst forms of human rights abuses.

They said Kashmiris are being subjected to collective punishment by Indian occupation forces which have turned the territory into the “world’s largest militarized zone.

They said Hindutva ideology of BJP government is becoming a threat to minorities in India.

Speakers of the conference said India has witnessed a growing wave of intolerance under the rule of Hindu-nationalist government of Narendra Modi that also exposed so called secularism of India.

They said the silence of the India’s political leadership over calls for Muslim genocide and ethnic cleansing is ominous.
