Dalit woman gang raped by Hindu priest, others in Rajasthan

A 25-year-old Dalit woman was gang raped by a Hindu priest with a group of men in Indian state of Rajasthan.

The 25-year-old Dalit woman was raped by Sanjay Sharma, a Hindu priest, first after finding her alone at home and recorded a video of her as well.

“Later, he extorted her money from her and raped her again with other Hindu members,” Ajmer North DSP Chhavi Sharma said.

The DSP said the suspect gave the victim sedatives and cannot say how many people were involved in the act.

The victim, who has children, has complained that she was raped and held by the accused several times in the past month.

According to the police, the suspect threatened to kill her children and husband and make her videos public.

The complainant said that while she was in their detention, the accused injected her with sedatives.

When she did not return home, her husband filed a missing person complaint, after which the suspect dropped her off in front of a police station on September 27.

On October 7, an FIR was registered on the basis of the complaint and the suspects are being sought. Sharma said the victim was medically examined and statements were made.
