India engaged in genocide of Kashmiris since 1947: APHC

Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders have said that India has been engaged in the genocide of the Kashmiri people since 1947 when it illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir through fraud and force.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC leaders including Molvi Bashir Irfani, Syed Bashir Andrabi, Mohammed Yasin Attai, Khawaja Firdous, Yasmeen Raja, Zamruda Habib, Farida Bahenji, Javaid Ahmed Mir, Fayaz Hussain Jafari, Syed Sibte Shabbir Qummi, Muhammad Shafi Lone, Hilal Ahmed War, Maulana Musaib Nadvi, Shafiq-ur-Rehman, Peer Syed Tasaduq, Advocate Arshad Iqbal, Muhammad Aaqib, Qazi Israr Umair and Peerzada Ataullah in their statements issued in Srinagar said that on October 27, 1947, India had illegally occupied Jammu and against the will of the Kashmiri people and it had been suppressing their voice since then. They said India has used all brutal tactics in all these years to suppress the Kashmir freedom movement and is now attempting to change the demographic composition of the territory to turn the Muslim majority into a minority.

The leaders said Kashmir is not a land dispute between India and Pakistan but an issue pertaining to the future of the Kashmiri people. They said the people of occupied Kashmir are facing the Indian state terrorism for demanding their internationally-acknowledged right to self-determination.

The APHC leaders said the Kashmiris will mark October 27 as Black Day all over the world to make it clear to the world that they do not accept India’s illegal occupation of their homeland and will continue their peaceful struggle till they are given their right to self-determination.
