The people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) will celebrate August 14 as ‘Jashn-e-Azadi’ and observe August 15, India’s Independence Day, as a ‘black day’.

In a statement in Srinagar on Sunday, an All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) spokesman felicitated the people and the government of Pakistan on the Independence Day, according to a Radio Pakistan report.

The spokesman said that India had no right to celebrate its Independence Day as it had occupied the land of Jammu and Kashmir. He deplored that all basic rights and civil liberties had been ruthlessly snatched by India in the occupied territory.

Meanwhile, despite the heavy deployment of Indian troops and surveillance cameras, posters had appeared in Srinagar and other areas with messages of greetings to the people of Pakistan on their Independence Day, the report said.

India, on the other hand, stepped up its brutalities in the occupied territory ahead of its 15th August activities. Special motor vehicle check-points had also been set up on all main roads in the territory, the report added.
