Srinagar: The Narendra Modi-led Indian government continuing its attempts to Indianize the illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has renamed a stadium in Baramulla after an Indian Army General.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the occupation authorities accorded sanction, today, to name the Jhelum Stadium Janbazpora after former Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat.

“Sanction is hereby accorded sanction to renaming Jhelum Stadium Janbazpora as “General Bipin Rawat Stadium,” read an order issued by the General Administration Department of the occupied territory.

General Bipin Rawat, who was inspired by the Hindutva ideology of RSS, intensified the killing of innocent Kashmiris during his tenure as Indian Army Chief and later as Chief of Defence Staff to suppress the Kashmir freedom movement. General Rawat, his wife, and 11 other people were killed after a military helicopter they were travelling in crashed in the southern state of Tamil Nadu on this day (December 08) in 2021.

It is to be mentioned here that the Modi regime is renaming buildings, roads and places after the names of Indian important personalities as well as the troops and police personnel who are killed in attacks in occupied Kashmir. The move is aimed at erasing the Muslim footprints from the territory.
