Srinagar: Professor Abdul Ghani Butt, a senior leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, has strongly condemned the recent decision of the Indian Supreme Court regarding the special status of occupied Jammu and Kashmir, saying that Indian superior judiciary has always been biased against Jammu and Kashmiri and its people.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Professor Butt, in a statement issued in Srinagar, said that India would get nothing from hatching conspiracies aimed at bifurcating Jammu and Kashmir into two so-called union territories and changing its Muslim-majority status into a minority status except for humiliation and disgrace.

He said that India has always stick to the policy of lies, deception and hypocrisy on Jammu and Kashmir, and has never dared to accept the facts on the issue. He said that Indian judiciary has lost its dignity by turning a blind eye to the truth and justice to satisfy, what a former Supreme Court Chief Justice had said while awarding death sentence to Kashmiri leader Muhammad Afzal Guru, “the collective conscience” of Hindu extremists.

Professor Butt said that India’s illegal act of revoking the special status of Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019 and now the Supreme Court’s biased decision to uphold this infamous act is deplorable. He also exposed the India’s malicious desire for gaining full control over five rivers flowing in Jammu and Kashmir. However, he advised the Indian leadership to remember the lesson of history that any success achieved on the basis of force is not durable and the message received from the land of occupied Palestine to the world should serve as a wake-up call for the Indians.

The Kashmiri leader asked New Delhi to shun politics of threats and intimidation and accept the facts and take initiative for resolving the burning issue of Kashmir, because without a sustainable solution to this long-standing conflict, South Asia and the world may face devastation as peace and stability will remain elusive till settlement of the Kashmir dispute.

Meanwhile, APHC leader, Yasmeen Raja, in a statement in Srinagar said the Indian Supreme Court’s verdict is a complete violation of the UN resolutions and international laws. She said the Kashmiris reject this highly controversial, cruel and biased ruling of the Indian apex court. She said the Kashmiri people will continue their struggle till they achieve freedom from Indian illegal occupation.
