Islamabad: Special Advisor to the Prime Minister on Human Rights & Women Empowerment Mushaal Hussein Mullick has said that the plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir as per UN resolutions is the only way forward.
According to Kashmir Media Service, while addressing as guest of honor at a seminar on the ‘Indian Kashmir Policy – Implications and Way Forward’, she highlighted that Pakistan is exposing violations of human rights and international laws by India at the international level. The event was organized by National Institute of Maritime Affairs (NIMA) in Islamabad.
She stressed the need to guard against Indian agenda of changing the demography of occupied Jammu and Kashmir and suggested to hold census on both sides of the divide under UN arrangements.
Former Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral (Retd) Muhammad Zakaullah, while addressing as guest speaker said that the Kashmir issue is an unfinished agenda of the partition of 1947 whereas India has continuously disregarded its own commitments to international community regarding plebiscite under UN arrangements.
Zakaullah, who is also NIMA BoA Chairman, reiterated that “Kashmir is an inalienable part of our body and soul”.
Vice Admiral (Retd) Ahmed Saeed, DG NIMA in his welcome remarks stated that Kashmir is the core issue between India and Pakistan. Post 2019 annulment of Article-370 & 35-A, the Indian government is systemically destroying Kashmiri identity and culture.
During the discussions, prominent speakers shed light on the current situation in occupied Kashmir. Dr. Adam Saud, Syed Muhammad Ali and Ambassador (Retd) Nadeem Riyaz underscored the need of developing a strong narrative exposing the true face of BJP-led Hindutva ideology. They emphasized effective diplomatic and media campaigns to mobilize the international community on the Kashmir issue.
The focused talk was attended by ambassadors, analysts, academia, media representatives, think tanks, students and faculty of universities.
