Persecution of Muslims, Sikhs, Christians and low-caste Hindus has increased manifold since the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led by Narendra Modi has come to power in India

A report released by Kashmir Media Service, today, said the RSS-backed fascist Indian government is on a mission to purge India of its minorities and their persecution and vilification at the hands of Hindutva forces has exposed the real face of India’s so-called secular democracy before the world.

It said, religious persecution in India under Modi is currently at an all-time high where Sikhs, Muslims and other minorities continue to be harassed, hounded, humiliated and killed. Inhuman treatment meted out to Sikh farmers in India has stripped off so-called secular mask from India’s face, it added.

The report said that the BJP regime was trying to demonize the Indian farmers’ protests by portraying them as a Sikh conspiracy. However, it maintained, the oppression against Sikhs in India increased manifold following Indian army’s attack on Golden Temple in Amritsar in June 1984.

It further said that Sikhs would never forget the atrocities committed against them by the fanatic Hindus with the complicity of the Indian government as the BJP-RSS regime’s discriminatory policies have already pushed minorities, especially Muslims and Sikhs in India to the wall.

The report said, religious freedom in India has taken drastic turn downward in Modi’s regime and that the BJP-led Indian govt is implementing RSS ideology against the minorities. It urged the international community and global rights bodies to take notice of Hindu fascism in India and come forward to save religious minorities in the country.
