Students belonging to different faiths have been organizing Iftar for their Muslim friends, in Karnataka’s Bidar, since the start of Ramadan.

The students at Shaheen Group of institutions, prepare plates of fruits, pakoras, and Rooh Afza, etc. on a daily basis. While the Muslim students break their fast, their non-Muslim friends serve them food and drinks.

A Hindu student said that they prepare Iftar for their Muslim friends every day.

“We find peace by doing this, we also want to be a part of Ramadan,” she said, adding that she feels happy seeing an environment like this.

Another student said that it was the first time that she has experienced Ramadan for the first time in her life.

“I really feel lucky in helping Iftar for my Muslim friends,” she said, adding that the atmosphere during the Iftar presents a sense of unity.

Dr. Abdul Qadeer, founder of the Shaheen Group of Inistutions, said that as many as 4500 participate in the Iftar daily.

He said that he prays that these students contribute for the betterment of the society and the nation.

By observing iftar together, regardless of religious or cultural differences, the students are promoting mutual respect, understanding, and tolerance. The act of serving food and drinks to their Muslim classmates further reinforces the idea of communal harmony and highlights the importance of empathy and kindness in creating an inclusive and welcoming environment.
