So far Israel’s relentless aerial bombardment and ground invasion in Gaza have killed at least 21,507 people, mostly women and children, according to Gaza’s health ministry. Nearly 70% of Gaza’s 439,000 homes and about half of its buildings have been damaged or destroyed. The bombing has damaged churches and ancient mosques, factories and apartment buildings, shopping malls and luxury hotels, theatres and schools.

According to London based website Middle East Eye, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ,who is committing genocide of Palestinians in Gaza , has told his supporters that he is looking for countries-especially Egypt and Jordan- ‘to dumb’ ethnically cleansed Palestinians in Gaza.

However both Egypt and Jordan, US- Israeli stooges, have ruled out accepting Palestinians into their borders, a possibility that recalls the Nakba of 1948, in which Zionist militias ethnically cleansed more than 700,000 Palestinians from their historic homeland to create the war monger state of Israel.

Israel is also looking out for African countries where they could bribe corrupt political leaders and settle Palestinians there.However 1948 is not 20o4 and Palestinians vowed to die in Gaza than settling down anywhere else.

In this regard pulitzer price winning American journalist Chris Hedges had this to state;

“Israel’s master plan for Gaza, borrowed from the Nazi’s depopulation of Jewish ghettos, is clear. Destroy infrastructure, medical facilities and sanitation, including access to clean water. Block shipments of food and fuel. Unleash indiscriminate industrial violence to kill and wound hundreds a day. Let starvation — the U.N. estimates that more than half a million people are already starving — and epidemics of infectious diseases, along with the daily massacres and the displacement of Palestinians from their homes, turn Gaza into a mortuary. The Palestinians are being forced to choose between death from bombs, disease, exposure or starvation or being driven from their homeland. There will soon reach a point where death will be so ubiquitous that deportation – for those who want to live – will be the only option.”

In its June 1967 six day war Israel captured Gaza and began its oppressive military occupation treating Palestinians as sub human beings. According to Amnesty International since June 1967 Israel’s ruthless policies of land confiscation, illegal settlement and dispossession of land ,coupled with rampant discrimination, have inflicted immense sufferings on Palestinians, depriving them of their basic human rights.

Israel’s military rule disrupted every aspect of daily life in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. It continues to affect whether, when and how Palestinians can travel to work or school, go abroad, visit their relatives, earn a living, attend a protest, access their farmland, or even access electricity or a clean water supply. It means daily humiliation, fear and oppression. People’s entire lives are effectively held hostage by Israel.

Israel has been forcing thousands of Palestinians off their land, occupying and illegally using it to create settlements that exclusively house Jewish Israeli settlers. Palestinians have also been violently attacked by the Israeli military and settlers. Israel also adopted a complex web of military laws to crush dissent against its policies .

Entire Palestinian communities have been displaced by these settlements. Their homes and livelihoods have been destroyed, they’ve had restrictions enforced on their movement, access to their own water, land and other natural resources. The Israelis, Jewish settlers and foreigners are not subject to any restrictions and are free to travel in and out of Gaza.

Over the years, Israel has gradually closed land-border crossings from Gaza into Israel except for one — which is open only to Palestinians with Israeli-approved permits.

Unable to withstand the the Palestinian resistance Israel unilaterally withdrew from Gaza in 2005. However Israel maintained control over Gaza. By 2007, Hamas emerged both as the victor in Palestinian elections and in factional fighting with rival Fatah in the city and in the wider Gaza Strip and has since been the sole governing authority

Israel was still occupying the enclave, but at arm’s length. This was the rationale for the blockade that tightly limited what was allowed in and out of the strip. Gaza had been turned into an open-air prison, controlled by Israel through intensive surveillance via drones, eaves-dropping and local collaborators and atrocities.

In practice, however, Israel found it much harder to police Gaza from afar. Hamas managed to create a much more sophisticated resistance movement in the small spaces left inside the prison that Israel could not surveil, such as a network of underground tunnels.

It was under such suffocating atmosphere that Hamas,attacked Israel on 7 October 2023 and drew the attention of the world which has virtually abandoned them and ignored endless Israeli crimes. It also sent a clear message to Arab dictators who started hobnobbing with Israel .

Under the guise of responding to Hamas attack Israel, fully backed by US,UK and Europe, unleashed waves of terror by air, sea and land indiscriminately bombing and destroying more than 85 percent of the buildings besides mass killings of innocent Palestinian civilians and throwing them to live in streets in open air in shivering winter cold.

Demonstrating the cruel and evil nature of Israel and its US-European shameless partners these civilians were deprived of water, food, fuel, medicine and electricity since Oct 8 to starve them to death,

Columnist Taha Ozan warned that the US-Israel alliance against the Palestinians will set the Middle East on fire.
