Israel facing increasing global isolation

Due to its endless barbarity on Palestinians

Hamas represents Palestinians who are the sons and daughters of Palestine which includes today’s  Israel.

Israel was created  for  Jews  brought  from abroad  to settle  in Palestinian lands in 1948  by Britain and US  after driving out Palestinians from their lands by means of  deception,  conspiracies, lawlessness and  repeated genocides .

The  International Criminal Court (ICC)’s prosecutor,Karim Khan, has  finally  issued arrest  warrants  against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his  Security Minister Yoav Gallant, for war crimes and crimes against humanity committed on the “territory of the State of Palestine”, in the Gaza Strip, from  8 October 2023 onwards

.This barbarity continues with greater intensity today in the Rafah and Jabaliya areas in Gaza with the complete support of US President  called Genocide Joe Biden while shameless  Arab dictators  remain silent.

Karim Khan has also issued arrest warrants for   Hamas   Gaza leader Yahya Sinwar, Qassam Brigades commander Mohammed Deif and political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

A senior Hamas official, Sami Abu Zuhri, described  this decision “equates the victim with the executioner,” and encourage “Israel” to continue its “war of extermination” in Gaza.

The ICC was established in 2002 as the permanent court of last resort to prosecute individuals responsible for the world’s most heinous atrocities — war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide and the crime of aggression. The U.N. General Assembly endorsed the ICC, but the court is independent.

“The 124 countries recognised by the Hague Court will be obligated to arrest Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defence Minister Yoav Galant, Army Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, and any person against whom an arrest warrant is issued whenever he/she arrives on their territory,”  This means that the Israeli leadership will not be able to leave the country, except perhaps to visit dictatorship countries or countries that pledge in writing in advance not to arrest that senior Israeli official.

Since Israel started its   latest  genocide  on 8 October 2023 to dismantle Hamas in Gaza   more than 35,000 Palestinians have been killed – at least half of them women and children,  The war has triggered a humanitarian crisis in Gaza, displacing roughly 80% of the population and leaving hundreds of thousands of people on the brink of starvation.

The ICC’s decision  created global shock waves  and caused uproar in the internal politics of Israel and its close ally, the United States.US President Joe Biden,soaked in Palestinian blood , lambasted the prosecutor and  said “whatever this prosecutor might imply, there is no equivalence — none between Israel and Hamas.” Republicans are already warning of sanctions against the court. “

The United States has long opposed the ICC because of the possibility that it could prosecute Americans. Like Russia and China, it does not recognize the jurisdiction of the court, blunting its effectiveness.

Meawnhile Iqbal Jassat   an Executive Member of the South Africa-based Media Review Network said   Karim Khan has committed a grave error by unfairly positioning  Palestinians,victims of Zionist colonialism on an equal footing with merciless perpetrators of genocide.

Widespread suspicion that International Criminal Court prosecutor Karim Khan is biased against Palestinians, is yet again confirmed by his attempt to charge leaders of the Palestinian Resistance movement Hamas for war crimes.

He said it   is absurd and irrational to indict leaders of Palestine’s resistance movement engaged in a  legitimate struggle for freedom and justice.A struggle for life, liberty and dignity, necessitated by the occupying regime’s decades old systematic oppression, ethnic cleansing and denial of fundamental human rights.

By defending their civilian population from Israel’s repressive racist policies which include land-grabs, home demolitions, arbitrary detention without trial, torture and reprehensible indiscriminate bombings, Hamas has demonstrated levels of morality unmatched by Israel..

On the other hand, Khan has dragged his feet in holding Israel’s war lords to account. That it took him close to eight months in which period thousands of innocent Palestinians have been killed in the most barbaric fashion and the entire Gaza Strip devastated, is by itself a crime.

On Friday 25 May 2024 the United Nations top court,International Court of Justice, ICJ, ordered Israel to stop its military offensive in the southern Gaza city of Rafah .   Dismissing the order Israel continued its bombing killing Palestinians and destroying buildings.

This assault is taking place with the effective endorsement of the Biden administration, despite Biden’s earlier public declarations that a full-scale attack on Rafah would be a “red line” for the White House.

The Israeli assault has deepened an already perilous humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, with vital aid routes, through the Rafah and Kerem Shalom crossings, blocked. More than 810,000 people have fled Rafah in the past two weeks, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees said on Monday.

Sick and tired of Israel’s lawlessness and war crimes backed by US,  Francesca Albanese, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation in Palestine, urged member states  to impose sanctions on Israel along with an arms embargo until it stops “this madness.”

“Let’s be clear. As the ICJ orders Israel to stop its offensive in Rafah, Israel intensifies its attacks on it,” Albanese said . “The news I am receiving from the people trapped therein are terrifying,” she also wrote.“Be sure: Israel will not stop this madness until WE make it stop,” the UN official added.

Albanese urged all UN member states to “impose #sanctions, arms embargo and suspend diplo/political relations with Israel till it ceases its assault.”

In another development demonstrating Israel’s continuous global isolation,  Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris told in Dublin: “Today, Ireland, Norway and Spain are announcing that we recognize the state of Palestine.    The recognition will come into force in all three countries on May 28, according to Irish Foreign Minister Micheál Martin .Norway’s Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre said that a Palestinian state was “a prerequisite for achieving peace in the Middle East.”

Palestinian officials welcomed the announcements as an affirmation of their decades-long quest for statehood in east Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip — territories Israel seized in the 1967 Mideast war and still controls.

While some 140 countries — more than two-thirds of the United Nations — recognize a Palestinian state,  cascade of announcements could build momentum at a time when even close allies of Israel have piled on criticism for its conduct in Gaza.The international community has viewed the creation of a Palestinian state alongside Israel as the only realistic way to resolve the conflict.
