Srinagar: Illegally detained senior leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, has urged the G20 heads to take notice of India’s continuous denial of the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination upheld by the United Nations Security Council through its resolution passed on January 5, 1949.

Shabbir Ahmed Shah in a message from New Delhi’s Tihar jail said that all the G20 countries had accepted the resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute and supported it to settle it through an impartial plebiscite.

He urged the G20 heads to ask Modi to stop military might policy on Jammu and Kashmir and resolve the dispute according to the United Nations resolutions.

Shabbir Ahmed Shah urged the World Body to honour its commitments made over seven decades ago and added that the Right to Self-Determination Day was a reminder to the global community that it could not shy away from its responsibility of settling the lingering dispute as per the UN resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
