Bihar’s leader of opposition Tejashwi Yadav on Wednesday strongly condemned BJP MLA Hari Bhushan Thakur’s demand to withdraw voting rights of Muslims and make them second class citizens in India.
“No mai ka lal [mother’s child] has guts to snatch the voting rights of Muslim brothers,” the Rashtriya Janata Dal president said in the state assembly. He further slammed Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his s silence on the BJP legislator’s vicious demand.
Addressing BJP leader Shhnawaz Hussain, Yadav said, “Shahnawaz bhai, your voting rights will be snatched. You too are keeping silent!”
He further attacked Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the largest Hindu extremist organisation, in his speech.
“Everyone – Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian- gave their contributions in this country’s independence but yes, the RSS people did not do so,” Yadav said.
