The Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government has intensified its colonial settler plan in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

In its latest move, the Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party-backed regime in IIOJK has started snatching the land and properties of the locals, particularly Muslims, in the name of anti-encroachment drive.

In the guise of clearing land that occupation authorities describe as ‘state land’ from encroachers, the IIOJK administration in a recent order asked the revenue officials and the Deputy Commissioners to ensure all such land is freed by the end of this month. The actual aim is to enforce demographic changes in the territory by confiscating land from locals and giving it to non-Kashmiris.

As part of this drive, the officials in Baramulla district have issued an ultimatum of three days to the local residents of Uri to vacate the land in three days. In an official notice, the officials in Uri and Boniyar areas of the district asked the people to vacate the land within three days or else action would be taken against them.

The IIOJK authorities on Wednesday started a similar drive to evict Kashmiris from ‘state land’ in Kreeri, Baramulla, have also called for the vacation of state land within three days. A notice issued in Urdu by the concerned Tehsildar warned people to vacate the land within three days. Similarly, a circular notified by the revenue officials in Islamabad district has asked the people of Dooru to vacate from the state land including the Roshni land within a gap of seven days. Earlier, on Wednesday revenue officials from Uri and Boniyar also warned locals to remove encroachments from state land within three days, warning of action in the other case.

Political parties like the NC, PDP, Peoples Conference and others have criticised the move, saying the occupants are generally poor people who constructed their dwellings on these state land
